Free Health Clinic

The Lone Oak Free Health Clinic was established in 1992.  It is located in Sequatchie County inside the Lone Oak Community Center and operates on Eastern (Chattanooga) Time and is open every Monday night from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 am. No appointment is necessary. All times Eastern.

The clinic is staffed by a volunteer nurse practitioner, Sonia Bible, FNP-BC, and offers free basic health care for anyone in surrounding counties who is uninsured or low- income.  

The clinic does not provide any type of treatment for pain management or mental health diseases.

Services provided:

  •  Treatment and diagnosis of acute medical problems such as colds, bronchitis, ear infections, trauma, bites, and GI issues and problems.  
  • Monitor chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, and provide medication refills. 
  • Perform simple diagnostic testing for strep, urinalysis, blood sugar and a1c monitoring, and lipids.  
  • Sports and school physicals.  
  • Medical equipment such as walkers, crutches, shower chairs, and potty chairs when available.

Free Dental Clinic

The Lone Oak Free Dental Clinic was started in 2008 to provide free, basic dental care to uninsured and low-income patients.   The clinic is located in the Lone Oak Community Center and operates on Eastern (Chattanooga) Time.

The Dental Clinic is staffed by volunteer dentists and is open one Friday each month, depending on the dentists’ schedules.  There are two fully equipped operatory rooms for dental services.

Dr. Tom Blockley and Dr. Steve Tipps are presently the volunteer dentists at the Lone Oak Clinic.  Chairside Assistant students from Chattanooga State frequently volunteer as dental assistants and dental hygienists. 

The dental clinic does not perform any services that provide dentures, patrials, or plates.

Services provided:  Basic dental care which is primarily extractions and fillings.  

Appointments are made from a waiting list.  In order to have your name placed on our waiting list, call the Lone Oak Free Health and Dental Clinic at 423-886-4040.  Leave a clear message with your name and a working telephone number with a voice mailbox which has room for us to leave you a message.  We will return your call and, after we talk with you, we can place you on our waiting list.

Funding

The Lone Oak Free Health and Dental Clinics are funded through generous donations from various churches, clubs, organizations, and individuals.  We receive no State or Federal funding.
